I took these photos on the way home from a friend's house. We had been out for most of the entire day, and there's always something nice about returning home as it's getting dark. He lives down the street, too, so I get to see something like this most of the time when I walk home from his house.
Nearly winter
Dark and Looming- paint daubs
The photo on the left makes me think of winter. The trees are all leaf-less save for the evergreens, and they practically have snow on them already. The photo on the right, combined with the paint filter and the angle, makes all of the trees look 'dark and looming' as the title suggests.
Nearly there
Quite the view- paint daubs
The photo on the left was taken from a path next to the lake, and since the trees block most of the view of the lake but still let the water and the sky peek through, I decided to name it 'Nearly there.' The photo on the right is from the same spot, but at a slightly different angle, so that the sunset is more visible. I thought that the paint daubs filter would look good with the sunset, so I chose that one.
Light and Dark
Earth and sky
These photos are both very similar, with the main difference being that the sky is more visible in the photo on the right. I think these photos are my favourites out of the set, because of the contrast between the plants (I'll admit, I don't know what they are) and the pine trees. There's also a middle ground with the dead non-pine trees in the middle ground.
End of the day
Streaks across the sky
This sunset is the same ones as in the other photos, but it's significantly clearer, with no trees or anything in the way. It's a fairly run of the mill sunset, but I like it and the paint daubs on the photo on the right make it look very cool.
